NR Electric at CIGRE 2026 Paris Session

NR Electric joined the 51st Session of the International Council on Large Electric Systems — the CIGRE 2026 Paris Session — held at the Paris Convention Centre from 23 to 28 August 2026. A delegation of specialists from across the company took an active part in the technical programmes of multiple Study Committees, while its corporate booth served as a platform for all-round exchanges with industry peers from around the world.

As one of the most prestigious platforms in the global power sector, this year's Session focused on the energy transition and the development of power grids. It drew around 9,000 participants from more than 100 countries — including over 5,400 international power experts and decision-makers — together with more than 300 international companies at the accompanying technical exhibition, as they explored the technology pathways and partnership opportunities that will shape the power systems of the future.

Technology Excellence on the Global Stage

Throughout the Session, NR Electric specialists took part in the group discussion sessions, working group meetings and technical exchanges of several Study Committees, including B5 (Protection and Automation), B4 (DC Systems and Power Electronics), B3 (Substations and Electrical Installations), A3 (Transmission and Distribution Equipment) and C4 (Power System Technical Performance). Sharing research findings and engineering practice across protection and automation, grid-forming energy storage and flexible DC transmission, a number of our experts also served as conveners or liaisons of working groups — a clear reflection of the technological strength and international voice NR Electric has built up over the years in power system protection and power electronics.

A specialist seminar on grid-forming technology, chaired by Mr. Zhan Changjiang, Deputy Chief Engineer of the NR Electric Research Institute, attracted more than 800 power experts and engineers from around the world and ranked among the best-attended specialist events of the Session. The remarkable turnout underscored the international industry's keen interest in grid-forming energy storage, as well as the global leading position of NR-ISGrid grid-forming technology.

An Exhibition Booth That Drew the World's Attention

Built around the theme of “Green Energy Transition,” the NR Electric booth was organized into three solution zones — Grid-Side Solutions, Grid-Forming Solutions, and Industrial, Mining & AIDC Solutions. The grid-side zone highlighted our technology portfolio in substation control and protection, intelligent operation & maintenance and online monitoring; the grid-forming zone presented complete grid-forming solution packages for a wide range of scenarios; and the industrial, mining & AIDC zone addressed emerging loads such as mines, data centers and hydrogen production with holistic new-energy power system solutions.

Throughout the exhibition, a steady stream of customers and industry partners — power utilities, renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, system integrators and consultancies from across the globe — visited the NR Electric booth for in-depth discussions on technologies, products and solutions spanning protection and automation, grid-forming energy storage and flexible AC/DC transmission. Many overseas customers showed strong interest in our innovative grid-forming solutions and proven delivery track record both in China and abroad, engaging in pragmatic talks on technology deployment and project cooperation.

Through this comprehensive showcase of its core strengths in protection and automation, grid-forming energy storage and flexible AC/DC transmission, NR Electric further strengthened its brand presence and professional recognition across the global power industry. Having first attended a CIGRE Session in 2000 and debuted at the CIGRE exhibition in 2008, NR Electric has remained a committed participant in CIGRE activities ever since — an international platform that has become an important window onto the company's technological strengths. Going forward, NR Electric will continue to leverage the deep integration of R&D and industrialization to deliver safe and efficient power system solutions for the global energy transition, working hand in hand with partners worldwide to build a greener, low-carbon electric future.
