The 50th CIGRE session was held in Paris, France from August 24th to 30th, 2024.NR Electric sent a delegation of 15 experts in various fields to participate in the conference.
CIGRE is a global community committed to the collaborative development and sharing of end to end power system expertise. More than 4,000 technical experts in the field of electric power from various countries participated in the conference. The exhibition held during the same period gathered more than 300 power equipment manufacturers, electric power companies, consulting companies and testing organizations around the world. The 5 days conference discussed the latest trends and cooperation opportunities in the fields of green energy transformation and power grid change. Members of the delegation of NR Electric participated in the academic activities of many technical committees, such as B5 (Protection and automation), B4 (DC system and power electronics), A3 (Transmission and distribution equipment) and B3 (Substation and electrical installations), etc., and carried out technical exchanges with global electric power experts by setting up exhibition booths and organizing technical seminar during the session.

In this session, NR Electric's experts in various fields participated in the technical seminars, posters, technical training and experience sharing and other public activities organized by the technical committees of B5, B4, B3, A3, etc., and introduced NR Reliability Protection's advanced technology and innovative concepts in the fields of protection automation, DC transmission and power electronics, grid-forming energy storage, electronic transformers, online monitoring and intelligent operation and maintenance.


Over the years, NR Electric has made outstanding contributions to the B5 and B4 technical committees. In this session, a number of experts from NR, as the convenor of the working group, liaison and members of the theme working group and other important roles, participated in the theme working group meetings and closed-door meetings and other internal meetings organized by the B5 and B4 technical committees. With years of deep accumulation and rich experience in the field of protection automation and power electronics technology, NR experts actively participated in the core work of the new working group and the election of the preferred theme, and share a number of successful cases of NR Electric in the protection automation, intelligent operation and maintenance, high-voltage DC and grid-forming energy storage projects.
NR experts chaired the B4.101 working group meeting on “Industrial Implementation and Application of Grid Forming Energy Storage Systems (GFM ESS)” as B4.101 convener, and made a report on “Operational Experiences of Existing HVDC and FACTS Schemes” in the B4 SC internal meeting, which fully reflected the world-leading level of NR Electric in grid-forming energy storage, high-power power electronic technology and equipment.

During this exhibition, NR booth attracted a large number of customers, industry partners and professional visitors. Many visitors showed great interest in the innovative technology of NR Electric, and carried out in-depth communication and exchanges on technical cooperation, application cases and market development.
In addition, technical experts from NR Electric also organized technical seminars during the exhibition, focusing on protection automation and intelligent operation and maintenance, high-voltage DC transmission and flexible AC transmission, and renewable energy power system based on grid-forming energy storage and other cutting-edge products and solutions. “Grid-forming technology and applications”, NR introduced the technology development and innovative practice in related fields. The related innovative technical achievements demonstrated the deep accumulation of NR in the related technical fields, and provided practical technical references for realizing the global green energy transformation.


The delegation of NR Electric communicated and interacted with global electric power experts with diversified perspectives during the CIGRE session, which demonstrated NR's open international vision and advanced technical capabilities. NR will continue to contribute to more efficient, intelligent, sustainable solutions, and work together with global partners for the green energy system.
