  • The Distribution Terminal Unit is a general description of various devices such as a feeder terminal unit and a transformer terminal unit used in distribution feeder circuits.

    PCS-9721C is a distribution terminal unit for pole top breakers and overhead lines. Based on NR’s many years of experience in R&D of relay protection devices, monitoring, control, and communication devices, as well as distribution automation, this product is made reliable, stable and more advanced in technology.

    The Distribution Automation System is designed with a hierarchy of architecture containing two layers, the master and distribution terminal stations.

    The first layer: The Master station, is mainly for monitoring the operation of middle and low voltage lines. the devices and the users of the whole distribution network and controlling the operation of power distribution.

    The second layer: The distribution terminal, is mainly for conducting data acquisition, condition monitoring, control and fault detecting. As well as treatment on the middle and low voltage lines, station switch, power distribution transformer and capacitor of the distribution network.

Fault Detection
PCS-9271C can detect a feeder fault to provide timely data for fault analysis on a master station. It will also perform fault isolation in combination with the master station, breakers, and load switches, which will help play a role in restoring the distribution network reliably and swiftly.

Alarm and Abnormal Monitoring

The device will monitor the running state of primary lines in real time, conduct self-checks on the operation condition of the terminal itself, and monitor the state of other intelligent device. In case of any abnormal alarm signal and local warning indication, all alarm signals can be treated by virtual tele-signal that will be sent to the master station/sub-station.

Power Supply

The main power supply of the device can be both in AC or DC, with two-circuit power input support for standby of each other. Backup power is supplied by battery. Once AC power supply is powered off, the device can automatically switch to battery DC power supply mode without any disturbance; When AC power supply is powered on again, the device will automatically switch back to AC power supply mode. During all power supply switching process, the device can continue in normal operation. At the same time, the device is also provided with battery activation and maintenance function and functions can be manually engaged in a local or remote place.
